Creating your Niche – Natural Coach

Niche…

“a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted”

If you’re considering coaching as your career or if you are practicing already have you positioned yourself in a niche or got caught up in the’ life coach’ label? No matter what you do you’ll deal with your clients lives and I’d love to encourage you to consider specialising.

Are you positioning yourself as a jack of all trades, proving a bit of everything? If that’s feels like you right now, can you ask yourself why?

When you coach, positioning yourself in a place of comfort is a great idea, when you niche you do just that. This is fits like a glove coaching!

Ask yourself…

Where are you at your best, natural and highly competent?

I believe the future of coaching will see more specialists emerge, more coaches who understand their strengths and work from that position.

So why niche?

You can be authentic, doing what you truly are skilled at

Your clients can and do find you because you stand out

You can develop a real brand

It’s a most satisfying experience for you

You deliver what you know, that meets your values

I believe a niche that you truly own makes for a win win for you and your clients.

Would you consider a niche, if so what would it be? Are you already in your niche? Love to hear from you…

You are so right Jayne, I keep seeing “life coach” or “Business Mentor” and thinking “but which business can you really help with”?

As you have found your niche we know who you are, who you can help and who you love to help. It’s not just eating disorders it’s body confidence and you’ve made sure we know that.
That is why a niche is so important! Thanks to your coaching I am working on our niche and that will come soon – it’s a passion, a love and something you are great at, you can help others from different places but your niche is who/what you want to work with most.

Love it Jayne and I am looking forward to the natural coaching revolution you are starting!

I really hope that natural coaches will be inspired to share their knowledge and gift. Having someone to walk with us in life can help us all achieve so much. It can help create clarity and the seemingly impossible becomes possible :-) x

    Hi Jayne,

I ran my first coaching session last night, and it was right in my ‘niche’… a niche that you actually helped me to identify! I can’t thank you enough.

Even though I know I have a lot to learn, I came away from the session fully convinced that I had helped my coachee to get the perspective they needed on their life. I didn’t judge or advise what to do, but listened, questioned, and helped them to see things in a new way – exactly as someone had done for me. Because this was in my niche, I had empathy and confidence in my approach, which in turn gave my coachee confidence.

Slowly but surely, I’m going to pursue this – keep listening, keep learning, and hopefully keep helping people who need support just like I did.
