The sun has made an entrance centre stage here in the UK and with it comes the natural mood enhancement as the beams of bright light weave their magic.
Now I know you may be inside an office and not as fortunate as me to work in a garden room and be my own boss BUT there’s always a way of taking a few minutes outside, there really is. If you can take a cigarette break and gather round the front of your office then why not a natural light break and improve your mood?
Let’s get ourselves motivated!
If you are managing staff within an office setting how about building these breaks into the day, encouraging your teams to take a 5-10 minute break outside and see the productivity rise. Under florescent lighting and air conditioning we not only feel drained and lacking in motivation we get dry sore eyes and develop drowsiness. It makes sense all round to help your staff be at their best and brightest to serve themselves and you well.
Oh and if you get mood and motivation slumps at work, see what happens if you have a desk by a window!
Who’s going to make some office changes and help develop their Happy Heads?

Love the idea of outside time, really great idea for offices. If I had an office and a team in that office I think it would be a must! In fact, I think it would be a must to have a garden we could work in but that’s just me
I think the wellbeing of employees is going to be a huge topic in the coming years. The understanding that mental wellbeing has a huge part to play in physical wellbeing. If we take the steps now to improve our mindsets we’ll not only feel better but perform better and in a shorter period. Well that’s my belief. Thanks Hannah x
This is so true! I am uplifted as quickly as someone flicking a switch when the sun comes out. Everything just seems more manageable. Instead of sitting looking at it we need to get out there and get a little Vitamin D into our bodies!
Like many of us Natalie you’ve noticed how good sunlight makes you feel. Happy Heads is all about the simple things we can all do to make life brighter and in turn make our lives more fulfilling. Ultimately we find ourselves feeling better, thinking differently and living and working well rather than ‘hard’. Our head is where it all starts, it’s exciting when you realise there is so much ‘you’can do. Thanks for commenting today
It’s so true that sunshine makes everything about your day seem so much brighter. Funnily enough I wrote my own blog this week ‘A little ray of sunshine’ because I decided I was going to make my own if the real one didn’t appear. It hasn’t and it doesn’t look like it’s going to either! It always seems to miss N.Ireland
Hi Carolyn we made the sunshine in April when we had a very wet week off. We decorated the house in spring time colour and got advice on what would make a cold space feel warm. Worked a treat. Here’s to the sunshine coming to you soon and thanks for popping by here to comment
