Memories of getting my bottle filled…

Inspired by 2 lovely Ladies on Twitter, WOW @LucyClemson and @lotusflowerldn, I’ve written a little Easter Monday blog.

I was having a lovely chat on Twitter about Dad’s over the holidays.  Lucy was having a lovely time with her Dad and enjoying how being at ‘home’ felt and sharing the fact on Twitter. @lotusflowerldn and I shared that we hadn’t got our Dad’s with us and were reminiscing about them and how much we missed them and the wonderfully fond memories we have to keep them forever present.

For me the conversation brought back memories of trips we made to see my parents. The excitement, that feeling of being loved and yes…getting my bottle filled. Dad always said that’s what going home was about… ‘getting your bottle filled’ and I loved that! Over the weekend I’ve asked my Mum where this came from and all we can gather is that it’s most likely to be a Midland saying, as that’s where we’re from.

“I loved you once, I love you still, I always have, I always will…”

So I still get my bottle filled with my Mum and actually I think we fill each others now.

Hope you take a moment to get your bottle filled with those who make you feel special and loved.
